Abstract

This report presents the case of a 49-year-old patient that was admitted due to a neurological condition consisting of binocular diplopia and facial hypoesthesia on the right lip and chin. After a complete medical history and physical examination, follow-up tests in the ER suggested the diagnosis of multiple myeloma, as an osteolytic lesion in the right temporal bone was found on the CT scan, and the presence of hyperproteinemia and normocyctic anemia was found in the lab study.  During hospitalization, the subsequent investigations confirmed the initial hypothesis, supporting the diagnosis of multiple myeloma IgA-lambda. The standard treatment was met with a very good response.
