Abstract

Singultus (commonly known as hiccups) are involuntary, spasmodic contractions of the diaphragm and the intercostal muscles. It is mainly secondary to benign conditions. We present the case of an 83-year-old man who, after hospital discharge for COVID-19, presents persistent singultus. It finally resolved after treatment with dexamethasone.
