We describe a 62-year-old woman’s case report, referred to a consultation due to the detection of high vitamin B12 levels. Given the association of this abnormality with different entities, several of a neoplasm nature, the study is extended and detected multiple pulmonary nodules, being the final diagnosis compatible with diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia. There is no data found in the literature to associate hypervitaminosis B12 with this entity.
The diffuse idiopathic pulmonary neuroendocrine cell hyperplasia is a rare condition that includes different neuroendocrine cell proliferation, including carcinoid tumors, with a usually chronic and benign course.
