Mild encephalopathy with reversible lesion of the splenus of the corpus callosum (MERS) is a clinical-radiological syndrome characterized by transient lesions of the splenus of the corpus callosum visible on MRI that present with neurological symptoms such as deterioration of the level or content of consciousness or seizures with full resolution within the month of evolution. Its pathophysiology is unknown with exactitude but its appearance has been associated with different infectious agents and it is known that it is generally of good prognosis.
