A 55-year-old woman, with a history of mixed bipolar disorder, is labeled as having psychogenic polydipsia due to a large daily intake of water and other fluids during the past few months. She is admitted to the Emergency Room because of severe hypernatraemia and acute kidney injury, forcing us to reconsider this diagnosis.
