Pseudocirrhosis describes morphological changes of the liver resembling cirrhosis, without the typical histopathological changes. It most commonly occurs in patients with metastatic breast cancer. It is an infrequent complication usually associated to a poor prognosis. The incidence of pseudocirrhosis seems to be increasing and complications from portal hypertension are often seen in these patients, like in true cirrhosis. Therefore, it is important to identify and treat patients at risk. We report the case of a woman with pseudocirrhosis as the clinical presentation of breast cancer relapse 9 years after diagnosis.
