Abstract

Hypoglycemia is defined by Whipple’s triad: symptoms of hypoglycemia, fasting hypoglycemia (blood glycaemia <50 mg/dL) and immediate relief of symptoms after the administration of glucose. Symptoms are divided into adrenergic symptoms (firstly) such as palpitations, sweating and tremor, and neuroglycopenic symp- toms (secondly) such as neurological focality, seizures and coma. The first individual cause of hypoglycemia in adults is iatrogenic hypoglycemia induced by insulin treatment or sulfonylureas. In this clinical case, a patient with repeated hypoglycaemias is presented, as well as the diagnostic process to follow in front of this kind of situation.
