We present a rare clinical case of a man infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) with hypoacusis, vertigo and imbalance of progressive evolution whose etiological investigation revealed syphilitic infection. With this case we want to show the importance of investigating this pathology in patients with cochleovestibular alterations, particularly HIV positive.
