Abstract

Neurogenic acute pulmonary edema is a rare type of pulmonary edema that occurs following central nervous system injury. We present the case of a 24-year-old woman admitted due to acute respiratory failure and decreased level of consciousness after experiencing an epileptic seizure. We review the main causes of this condition, along with its etiopathogenesis and possible differential diagnoses, emphasizing key aspects for early diagnosis and effective treatment of this rare but potentially life-threatening disease.
