Abstract

Twiddler’s syndrome is an uncommon, but potentially life-threatening complication, that can occur after pacemaker or defibrillator placement. The condition is easily diagnosed and based in identification of lead displacement in chest x-ray. Treatment consists of lead repositioning and device fastening to adjacent tissues, to avoid rotation. In patients who are going to receive such devices, it is important to identify predisposing conditions to avoid this complication.
