Abstract

A 67-year-old man consulted due to altered intestinal rhythm with diarrheal stools and bilateral malleolar edema. The patient presented elevated cytolysis enzymes and cholestasis in urgent blood tests. Abdominal ultrasound-Doppler compatible with chronic liver disease with portal hypertension and CT of the chest and abdomen were performed, which showed countless nodular lesions that were biopsied. Anatomopathological study compatible
with neuroendocrine carcinoma. Echocardiography showcased right atrial dilation along with fibrosis and jet of
moderate tricuspid regurgitation. It was concluded as a diagnostic judgement the presence of primary hepatic
neuroendocrine tumour with secondary cardiac carcinoid syndrome.
