Abstract

Pulmonary thromboembolism is a pathology with variable, silent and non-specific symptoms that are difficult to
diagnose and it represents a health problem of great significance. We present the case of a 49-year-old patient,
with a history of hereditary ovalocytosis, arterial hypertension and primary fibromyalgia, who attended the Emergency unit due to a recent history of loss of consciousness. According to the complementary examinations and risk stratification, it was concluded: massive bilateral PE, low intermediate risk.
