Paraneoplastic hypoglycemia due to solitary pleural fibrous tumour

The solitary fibrous pleural tumor is a rare neoplasm that can cause paraneoplastic hypoglycemia. We describe the
case of a 70-year-old patient with an unresectable solitary fibrous tumor who, at the start of palliative chemotherapy
treatment, presented with paraneoplastic hypoglycemia refractory to treatment. Due to complications from
refractory hypoglycemia crises, partial tumor resection associated with chemical pleurodesis was eventually proposed, with a favorable evolution and normalization of glucose levels during follow-up. The importance of early
diagnosis and surgical treatment to improve clinical outcomes is highlighted.
