Abstract

We present of a patient with left atrial myxoma who had a synchronous debut with ischemic stroke in multiple territories and an obstruction of the left cilioretinal artery, where surgical excision was curative. The challenges in the
diagnosis of cardioembolic stroke are highlighted, especially in patients with an absence of vascular risk factors, where unusual etiologies enter the differential diagnosis. Surgical excision was curative. This case underlines the importance of establishing a differential diagnosis of unusual etiologies in patients without vascular risk factors and in the presence of multiple and complex neurological symptoms.
