Abstract

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is characterized by the concurrence of symptoms and signs of acute lower respiratory tract infection and pulmonary infiltrate on the chest x-ray or other imaging test. We present a clinical case of severe pneumonia and discuss some novel and controversial aspects of diagnosis and its treatment.
