Helicobacter pullorum isolated in the stool of an immunosuppressed patient with cholestasis and diarrhoea. A case report

Helicobacter pullorum is a zoonotic bacterium that commonly colonizes the digestive tract of poultry and other animals. Transmitted by the consumption of contaminated meat, it is an exceptional cause of human illness. Clinical cases described in literature are scarce, and even fewer are those which present with diarrhea and pathology at a hepatobiliary level. As such, we have decided to present a rather particular case of an isolated H. pullorum in stool samples of an immunosuppressed patient and carrier of the hepatitis C virus; cholestasis and aggravation of the hepatitis from which patient suffered was observed.
