Abstract

Massive pleural effusion of pancreatic origin is a rare complication of pancreatitis that is usually due to a pancreatic-pleural fistula. Within the infrequent of this entity, even what is more than the recurrent picture on the contralateral side and also, as in our case, is complemented by a superinfection by Escherichia coli from the digestive tract originating a pleural empyema.
