Abstract

Syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH) is a diagnosis of exclusion in patients suffering from hyponatremia. The etiology can be diverse, with pulmonary tuberculosis being a described but rare cause. Urea is proposed as an effective drug in the treatment of hyponatremia due to SIADH. We present the case of a patient with SIADH secondary to pulmonary tuberculosis, whose hyponatremia improved after treatment with urea.
